Ester-C
McIntosh Pro Line • Ester-C is a patented, mineralized form of vitamin C. Ascorbic acid, the vitamin C we are most familiar with, passes through the horse's gut and is excreted too rapidly. Vitamin C can irritate the lining of the digestive tract and at the higher dosage needed to help the joints will cause the formation of crystals in the urinary tract and can cause ulcers or diarrhea. Ester-C has a neutral PH, which means it will not upset your horse's stomach or cause ulcers. In addition, because of its patented formula, Ester-C is four times more absorbable than regular vitamin C.

MSM
McIntosh Pro Line • MSM is a nutritional supplement that provides biologically-active sulfur; a key component of connective tissue in animals and humans. MSM is a dietary derivative of DMSO, a natural food found in most plants and in the milk of all animals and is one of nature's best sources of dietary sulfur, an important mineral in the synthesis of vitamins (biotin and thiamin), amino acids (methionine and cysteine), and chondroitin sulfates (compounds that assist joint lubrication). MSM is needed to form collagen which is the building block for many structures, including bone, cartilage, ligaments, tendons, synovial fluid, skin, hoof, hair and other connective tissue. Vitamin C is sometimes added to enhance the benefits. MSM is required to maintain the health of epithelial tissues that form the linings of the lungs, nose, sinuses, throat, mouth and the gastro-intestinal tract. Veterinarians have used MSM in horses with arthritis, hoof ailments, laminitis, allergies, skin problems, and gastro-intestinal inflammations for years.
